Nanograde’s technology permits the creation of highly efficient antimicrobial additives. A degradable mineral composition acts as a carrier for 1-2 nm large silver clusters. Our technology enables the perfect distribution of the silver on the surface of the substrate nanoparticle ensuring maximal accessibility of the silver. At the same time our carrier is a nutrient for microbes facilitating the uptake of our additives. These simultaneous attacking modes lead to unmatched antimicrobial efficiency of Nanograde’s antimicrobial additives. The bacteria killing efficiency is up to 1000 times higher than conventional silver preparations, especially at low silver loadings.
